This animation shows the results of a dynamic simulation of gait. The 3D, muscle-driven model of the lower extremities and trunk was optimized to perform a 2D simulation of a gait cycle in the sagittal plane. The model was validated by comparing the optimization results with measurements from experimentally recorded gait data."
